Participation in associations

• Eurographics' : Jean-Michel Dischler is president of the association Eurographics since January 2021. Since 2015, he is an elected member of its executive committee (EXC board), the decision-making body of the association. He is also chairman of the conference steering committee, which manages the main conference of the association (venue, papers chairs, contracts with local organizers, etc.). Previously he was chair of the professional boards of Eurographics association.

• SIF : Basile Sauvage (since 2021) is member of the board of the SIF (French Computer Science Association).

• AFIG : Dominique Bechmann (2006-2013), David Cazier (2008-2018) and et Basile Sauvage (since 2016, president since 2020) are members of the board of the AFIG (French Computer Graphics Association).

• AFRV : From 2006 till 2019, Dominique Bechmann was member of the board of the AFRV (French Virtual and Augmented Reality Association created in 2005).

• Computer Graphics Society : Hyewon Seo is member of executive board of the Computer Graphics Society (CGS) since 2013.

Participation in workgroups

• The IGG team participates in the University of Strasbourg's Interdisciplinary Thematic Institute ITI IRMIA from 2021 to 2028 and Dominique Bechmann is a member of the steering committee.

• GDR IG-RV : During 8 years, from 2014 till 2021, Dominique Bechmann was head of GDR IG-RV « Informatique Géométrique et Graphique, Réalité Virtuelle et Visualisation ». She was a member of the pilot committee of GDR IG « Informatique Graphique » (Graphics) launched in 2006 and renewed in 2010.

• GTAS : David Cazier was head (with Marc Parenthoen) of the national Workgroup on Animation and Simulation of the GDR IG-RV from 2015 till 2017.

• GT Visu : Jonathan Sarton is co-head (with Romain Vuillemot) of the national Workgroup on Visualization of the GDR IG-RV since January 2022.

• Julien Narboux participates in the GDR DEMIPS.

• GDR IG-RV : The IGG research group is linked to this GDR (Research group) through the workgroups « Geometric Modeling », « Animation and Simulation », « Rendering », « Visualization », « Virtual reality ». IGG is also linked to the GDR IM « Informatique Mathématiques » (Computer Science and Mathematics) via the workgroup « Modélisation Géométrique » (Geometric Modeling) and to the GDR GPL, in the new workgroup « Langages, Types et Preuves » (Languages, Types and Proofs).

European and International Expertises

• Dominique Bechmann is an expert for South Africa's National Research Foundation (NRF) in 2018.

• Jean-Michel Dischler is an expert for the DFG (Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft) for Clusters of Excellence in the area of Computer Science Panel I15 in 2018.

• Appointment of Birgitta Dresp-Langley by the European Commission to the Expert Group on Artificial Intelligence and Personal Security from January 2020.

• Franck Hetroy-Wheeler is an expert of a research project submitted to FONDECYT for the National Agency for Research and Development (Chile) in October 2020.

Organization of conferences

• IG-RV 2021 Dominique Bechmann led the organization of the Fourth Plenary Days of the GdR IG-RV which took place remotely during the week of March 16 to 19, 2021 with concomitantly the days of the GDMM, GTMG, GTRV WGs and a plenary day that she organized remotely on Wednesday, March 17, 2021 from Strasbourg (ICube-IGG) - 126 participants;

• SPM 2020 / SMI 2020 : Frédéric Cordier and Hyewon Seo are Conference Co-chairs of Solid and Physical Modeling and Shape Modeling International in Strasbourg June 2-4, 2020.

• EGSR2019 / MAM2019 / HPG2019 : Jean-Michel Dischler, Rémi Allègre and Basile Sauvage are organizing in Strasbourg the international conferences (joint events) Eurographics Symposium on Rendering 2019, Eurographics Workshop on Material Appearance Modeling 2019, and High-Performance Graphics 2019.

• EJCP2019 : Nicolas Magaud and Julien Narboux organize the 2019 edition of the french summer school on programming (ECJP : Ecole de Jeunes Chercheurs en Programmation).

• JFLA2019 : Nicolas Magaud chairs the french-speaking conference JFLA 2019 (Journées Francophones des Langages Applicatifs).
• ADG2016 : Julien Narboux and Pascal Schreck are organizing the international conference Automated Deduction in Geometry 2016 in Strasbourg.

• COQ2016 : Nicolas Magaud and Julien Narboux are co-chair of the Coq Workshop 2016 organized in Nancy.

• CGI2015 : Hyewon Seo and Frédéric Cordier organized the international conference Computer Graphics International 2015 in Strasbourg, with IGG team (local organization managed by Rémi Allègre and Basile Sauvage).

• EUROGRAPHICS2014 : Jean-Michel Dischler, David Cazier and Caroline Essert organized with IGG team the EUROGRAPHICS 2014 international conference that hold in Strasbourg.

• DBSMC @ MICCAI : Caroline Essert organized the international workshop on Deep Brain Stimulation : Methodological Challenges (DBSMC'2012) at MICCAI 2012 international conference in Nice, and was program chair. She participated in the organization of the 2nd edition DBSMC'2014 at MICCAI 2014 international conference in Boston MIT and was a member of the program committee.

• Journées AFRV'2012 : Dominique Bechmann was in charge of the organizing committee of the national conference AFRV'2012 (140 participants), held from 29 to 31 October 2012 in Strasbourg.

• ACM SAC : From 2006 to 2009, Pascal Schreck co-organized together with Dominique Michelucci and Xiao-Shan Gao a session of the conference ACM SAC (Symposium on Applied Computing) dedicated to constraints and geometrical reasoning.

  • Caroline Essert participated in the organization and program committee of the French workshops « Modèles en Stimulation Cérébrale Profonde (Planning, Implantation et Evaluation Post-opératoire): Problèmes Méthodologiques » : M-DBS’11, M-DBS’13, M-DBS’15 in Rennes, and M-DBS'17 in Paris.
