Participation to the organization of colloquiums

Jean-Michel Dischler pilote l'organisation de la conférence internationale EUROGRAPHICS 2014 qui sera accueillie à Strasbourg par l'équipe IGG du LSIIT.

Since 2006, Pascal Schreck is co-organizer together with Dominique Michelucci and Xiao-Shan Gao of a session dedicated to constraints and geometrical reasoning which is part of the conference ACM SAC (Symposium on Applied Computing). The 2008 edition of this session - called GCR08 - is described at this address : http://axis.u-strasbg.fr/gcr08 (see also [6-GMS07]).

Caroline Essert organized, in the scope of the french-japanese project JST-CNRS "Improving the VR experience", 4 french-japanese workshop : in Tokyo in June 2008, in Strasbourg in March 2009, in Bordeaux at the end of 2009, and in Japan in 2010.

Dominique Bechmann is a member at the editorial board of the IJVR journal International Journal of Virtual Reality since 2006.

Dominique Bechmann is the chief editor at the editorial board of the french online journal of "Informatique Graphique" (Graphics) since its creation in 2006 (co-editor from 2006 till 2008).

Participation to associations

Jean-Michel Dischler is currently chair of the professional boards of Eurographics association.

Dominique Bechmann is a member of the board directors of the French Computer Graphics Association (AFIG).

Dominique Bechmann is a member of the board directors of the French Virtual and Augmented Reality Association (AFRV).

Participation to GDRs (Research Actions)

Dominique Bechmann is a member of the pilot committee of GDR IG « Informatique Graphique » (Graphics) launched in 2006. The whole research group is linked to this GDR (Research Action) through the workgroups « Modélisation Géométrique » (Geometric Modeling), « Visualisation et Rendu » (Visualization and Rendering) and « Animation et Simulation » (Animation and Simulation).

We are also linked to the GDR IM « Informatique Mathématiques » (Computer Science and Mathematics) via the workgroup « Modélisation Géométrique » (Geometric Modeling) and to the GDR GPL, in the new workgroup « Langages, Types et Preuves » (Languages, Types and Proofs).

Scientific vulgarization

Dominique Bechmann was coordinator - with Bernard Péroche from LIRIS - of two articles IC2 about "informatique graphique" (graphics), series "Traitement du signal et de l’image" (Signal and Image Processing) headed by Francis Castanié and Henri Maître, Hermès, 2007.
